Our Thanksgiving was wonderfully relaxing this year—near bliss after the crazy weeks leading up to the holiday.

A small gathering at my brother's home. Nearly perfect weather. We were able to leave the doors open and enjoy the breeze. (It can be hot enough to run the air conditioner on Thanksgiving here in Florida!)

After dinner, I headed outside and sat by the koi pond to sketch.

I think I could have stayed all day.....

I do know I'll be going back.

Care to join me?

  3. Nice to know you had a good holiday. We had our first snow last night here in Ohio. Didn't last and today is sunny. I think I like our weather better than AC on Thanksgiving. Love this little page.

  5. Lovely, peaceful sketches for Thanksgiving. What a great idea to sit beside the pond and sketch this time of year. We actually made a koi pond in our backyard that I could take advantage of .... but I'm not sure who is ahead right now regarding the koi -- my husband and I or the local herons? I just don't remember if we actually have any koi out there at the moment.

  6. Well then, come on, KJ! Time's a' wasting!

Thanks, Lisa, we have too much heat, you have too much cold. Too bad we can meet in the middle!

I have to agree, Katie, it doesn't seem much like Thanksgiving when it's 90 degrees outside!

Come on over, Cheryl! Would LOVE to have you!

Claire! You've got a great sketching opportunity there. My brother's koi are quite large—it would take a very large bird to lift one of them out of the pond.
