Falling Into Autumn
9:57 AM
As I visit friends around the blogosphere, I see signs of Autumn everywhere. Fires in fireplaces, folks in sweaters and jackets and Autumn's bounty have begun to show up in images posted over at Flickr and on the blogs.

It is not yet Autumn here in Florida though we have had a few low-humidity days that makes it feel as if Autumn is just around the corner. There's also been a change in the light quality that indicates the seasons are grudgingly giving over to change.

DeleteAutumn is here. The leaves have all turned. Many are falling from the trees. Hostas are turning yellow from the frosts and there is a nip in the air. Seeing your sweet sketch makes me think I need to be drawing up something colorful.
ReplyDeleteoh how I love this time of year!!!! wonderful painting Laure!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are finally getting fall colors in our yard. No freezes tho but rain finally. I love seeing all the lovely colors but hate raking up all the tons of leaves after they fall. :) How cool to get lots of acorns. I have found a few in our yard that some birds or critter has been bringing us along with the walnuts the squirrels bring us around this time of year and plant and I have to dig up in summer. :]
ReplyDeleteI love your sketch ! Autumn is very much on it's way here in Wales ! I know exactly what you mean about the special quality of the light - it is like no other season - eretheal & other worldly - somehow makes me think of precious time slipping away ! Thanks for sharing Ali x
ReplyDelete...I love the way you've put this journal entry together....the leaves and the words.
ReplyDeleteA red covered bridge to go with all those red leaves. I'm envious. We have the bridges here, but I've only seen white ones. Your sketch is beautiful!
