It's ...CONGRATS on the "Cherries in Crystal" award! It's a gorgeous painting. Good for you!!!

I love the baby portrait! Her skin is beautiful and you've captured a lot of expression in her eyes. I'll offer one thought for you to consider.... perhaps soften the line on her bottom lip. Leaving it slightly undefined gives a softer, more believable look (even if you do see a defined line in your original). That said, I'm off to work on a portrait and try to take my own advice! ;-)Teresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14186138266137470331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6711781124266002702.post-91677989662821600402009-05-12T09:39:00.000-04:002009-05-12T09:39:00.000-04:00Oh my, she is just a doll. You know...because I was born on George Washington's birthday, I have a special thing for cherries, and your banner is what first caught my eye the first time I visited your blog! (Seems you have a special thing for them too...they are always so beautiful when you paint them.)

Also...I see the differences in the painting...amazing...so subtle, but they give an entirely different feel (age, much younger,...and innocence, even sweeter). I'm glad you've shown the differences.Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02263405659108175434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6711781124266002702.post-29337382496550225032009-05-11T23:46:00.000-04:002009-05-11T23:46:00.000-04:00I am trying to be critical but just can't. The eyes really grab my attention, and the lips look so real. I also couldn't help but smile at the way you've captured her hair - just a little bit tossled. The skin tones are quite nice. Overall I think it is a beautiful painting.

Congratulations on your award for the cherries in Crystal. I took a peek and that is a lovely painting -- so wonderful in capturing the light, shadows, and the look of crystal. What a wonderful surprise to be recognized for it.Claire Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10422062718551034294noreply@blogger.com
